About me

Nicole is a Florida native who has been romanticizing the humidity in the air and the heat on her skin since she was a child. She’s been creating stories since before she knew how to write (thanks Mom for transcribing) and fell in love with the way language can make us feel so much. Graduating Summa Cum Laude, she holds bachelor’s degrees in creative writing and psychology from the University of South Florida and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. Her short story “Safe Eyes” won her the honor of receiving the Anspaugh Fiction Award and the Thomas E. Sanders Scholarship in creative writing.

When she is not writing, Nicole also works as a professional dancer, stilt walker, and performer in various theme parks and multiple production companies across Central Florida. She also is a therapist specializing in childhood therapy. She is interested in and passionate about the relationship and healing that occurs between mental health and art.
