Blue

I have been
avoiding the color blue,
but it’s my favorite color—
I have engulfed myself
within it, took the deepest
breaths I could
to let it consume me.

I have been avoiding
the color blue, but the sky
refuses to turn grey
along with me, suddenly 
unable to produce storms.
